Social Networking is becoming quite the trend on the Internet. Social media sites MySpace, Twitter, and Facebook have become the giants of the industry. These sites have captured hungry Internet Marketer’s from around the world who are actively marketing and promoting their businesses. There are some very important keys that these marketers are currently missing while marketing on these sites. It’s very important that these Internet marketer’s learn how to use the right social marketing strategies on these sites if they want to have long-term success. There are some very simple strategies to follow when using social marketing on the Internet. No matter where you are marketing on the Internet, it’s very important to send your prospects to an informative and non-salesy website before you send them to your sales capture page. The best way to do this is to set-up your own fully hosted WordPress blog. Your WordPress blog will be at the center of all your marketing strategies. This will be the first place that prospects will be taken to before you send them to any site that will capture their information. Your blog will focus on branding yourself as a leader and making your business credible to your prospect. Make sure when you post to your blog, that all information is valuable to your prospect and isn’t cheesy. If you post content that is worthwhile, then major search engines like Google will show your posts for free on their search results. This means that you will have free traffic to your website for years to come. On the home page of you blog and on your posts, you will have your link to your capture page. Pospects will come to your blog, read about you and your posts first, then you will redirect them to your capture page. This is the best way to build a relationship and trust with your prospects before you try and sell them something. The most important key of all is that your blog will rank high within the search engines, because you are providing them with organic content. Google loves organic content. They don’t like capture pages. Recently, Google has been putting some heavy restrictions on Internet marketers who are using capture pages to market a business. Make sure that you don’t get the “Google Slap.” The last thing you want is to be put out of business. Remember that Google is King. The key to preventing the “Google Slap” from happening is to own your own self-fully hosted blog, provide good content, then redirect your prospect to your sales page. After you have set up your WordPress blog, you will want to focus on driving traffic to your site. Social media sites are a tremendous way to create free traffic if you implement the right social marketing strategies. When creating your profiles on these sites, focus on who you are as a person. Make sure to use a good profile picture of yourself, since this will be your first impression. Also, go into detail on your likes, dislikes, and interests. People want to know who you are first, before they will be in business with you. The key to social media marketing is to be genuine, post good content, and never use spamming techniques. Over time you will build a good reputation and people will begin to trust you if you do things right. If you follow these social marketing techniques, you will be well on your way to becoming a master marketer. Remember it’s very important to always send your prospect to your blog first before you send them to any capture pages. When using social marketing strategies, put yourself in your prospects shoes. Think about the content that they would want to read, and then deliver it to them. Don’t be sales, or pushy. Make sure to always deliver solid content on your blog and social media posts. If you follow these marketing and strategies and techniques, you will be well on your way to becoming a master marketer. Once you’ve become an Internet marketing master, you will have floods of traffic to your website that you won’t know what to do with. Remember that traffic equals prospects, and prospects equal money in your pockets.

This article is aimed at the affiliate marketer who want to take his business to the next level.  One of the best ways you can do that is to build your own website. If you’re interested in increasing your affiliate income, please read on! Things you will need:* A domain name related to your niche.  There is a rule in Internet marketing: you should never have to explain a domain name. This means that your domain name should be short and people should be able to tell from that domain name what your site is about. For example, if your niche is dog training, it would make sense to use words related to dog training, that are eye-catching and get your point across. Something like dogtraining4dummies, or dogtraining123, or even makeyourdogsit would work. * Hosting. Hosting is space on the web to store your website contents.  In the old days (like the beginning of this century) hosting and bandwidth was expensive.  This is no longer the case; hosting is very cheap and so is bandwidth. You can get decent hosting with unlimited bandwidth and services like Fantastico Deluxe which lets you install popular scripts like WordPress at the click of a button for about three dollars per month to seven dollars per month.* A What You See Is What You Get (WYSIWYG) webpage editor program.  Unless you know HTML, this type of editor will help you create your website.  In WYSIWYG editing, the coding is done in the background as you type your content, so that what you see on the screen is exactly how the end-result will look. Many good hosting plans will offer their own WYSIWYG editor as part of the hosting service.Alternatively, you can use the popular WordPress script to create your site with even less fuss. There are many popular and free WordPress themes that you can customize to your liking. * Content. You can’t build a site that’s just full of affiliate links and nothing else and expect to make any money.  Rather, you should create a website full of useful content that is related to your niche and then offer your affiliate products as a complement to that. There are two common ways to  organize your content: One is the problem/solution format in which you establish yourself as an expert on your niche and then guide your visitors to your affiliate products as a solution to their problems, while the other is more of a repository for facts and opinions about your niche. In the latter, you would include affiliate products that people reading about your niche might be interested in purchasing.A good example of the problem/solution type site is one about training aggressive dogs. A site like this could explain a technique to keep a dog from lunging at other people or animals while on a walk by using a special collar. The site then recommends a series of collars that would work and these would be the affiliate products for that site

An example of a factual and opinion based site would be a site about PC games. The site would offer game reviews (opinion) and facts about how to get the most out of the latest games (facts.) Affiliate products for such a site would revolve around things useful to PC gamers, like games themselves, computer equipment, and computer maintenance products.

Your time means a lot to you, doesn’t it? I know I value my time just as much as you value yours. Our time is one thing that we can never get back. It is absolutely crucial that we utilize our time in the best manner possible. Okay, so you have a great niche market idea in mind, and you are ready to get out there and make some money. Creating a web presence for your niche comes is a few different forms. Depending on your web expertise or your pocket book will determine what you will call home for your niche. Here are a few suggestions and tips to help get your niche idea on the internet.

1. Acquire your own domain with paid hosting

Depending on availability, choosing a domain name that matches your niche/keyword is key to building traffic. For example, if your niche/keyword was “easy crochet patterns”, you would want to get a domain name as close to those words as possible, such as “easycrochetpatterns.com”. You will need to get hosting for your domain and depending on where you go, fees start for under $10.

2. Use a free web hosting site.

You can host your newly acquired domain on a free site as well, however you probably will have some sort of advertising posted on your site. This can give your web site a less professional look and may turn customers off that feel if you cannot pay to have an ad-free site, you do not have your whole heart into what you are doing. If you do not purchase your own domain, you can get a sub-domain through the free sites as well. Your web address would look something like: “easycrochetpatterns.freewebhost.com”. Again, not a very professional look, but still an option.

3. WordPress.com

You may have already heard about Web 2.0. Basically it involves bringing ease of use and real time functionality to your web presence. WordPress.com allows you to set up a sub-domain for free and have all the ease of design at your fingertips. For additional features or to host your own domain, there is a fee.

4. Create a blog

Blogging is all the rage lately. If you are not doing it, you are out of the loop! Blogger.com allows you to host your own blog, again as a sub-domain, but will a twist. Search engines love blogs and with well designed and high quality content, you can move up the search engine rankings quickly and bring more traffic to your site. Blog is short for weblog and includes almost anything kind of content – text, images, video, and audio.

5. Squidoo and Hubpages

Two more sites that are loved by the search engines are Squidoo.com and Hubpages.com. Considered online publishing ecosystems, you can have your sub-domain hosted for free. Both sites allow you to post messages, video, advertising (to make extra cash), polls, audio applications, you name it. Web pages hosted on these sites are hot right now, and search engines love them too.

Where ever you choose to host your site, do not wait until tomorrow. Get started today. I recommend you choose to host your niche/keywords at a few different places to get additional exposure. You could have your own domain, and then have a Squidoo lens or a blog linking back to it. The choices are virtually limitless. The more original quality content you post on the web, the better chances are to building traffic and then income.

There are a lot of folks out there that will tell you how to make money on the internet. My advice? Don’t listen to them.
A little background. In 2006 I knew a lot about sales and marketing, but I knew nothing about the tools of the internet. I jumped on one of those “Earn 300 Dollars a Day Following This Easy Step-by-Step Plan” packages and wasted a lot of time. But I came to my senses…after losing some money.
I sort of knew what I wanted to do even though I had never done it. I wanted to sell downloadable information ebooks. I had already bought some and saw how that went and I just liked the sales process…and I still do.
I think the reason that selling info products is so attractive to me is because I was in the furniture business for 30 years. I had grown tired of warehouses full of physical inventory. The internet looked good!
But I wasn’t ready. I didn’t know what to do. And, if I knew what to do I didn’t know how to do it. I had to get past that stumbling block. And if you are anything like I was when this first caught my eye…you aren’t ready, either.
So what do you need to know to make your way in Internet Marketing (IM)? This article covers ten skills that will make your career in Internet Marketing a lot easier.
By the way, you haven’t been told this before. You don’t have to be an expert in the “ten skills” this article covers. You just need to know your way around in it. That’s one of the keys to getting rid of that whole overwhelmed feeling that nails us all at times.
First, you have to get to know the the language used here. I found a good online internet marketing school and put myself in there! I studied and learned and I think that had a lot to do with my sticking with it after my horrible start. (If you search article directories for Riley West as author you can laugh at my horrible start. The title is “How to Get a Good Start in Internet Marketing.”)
The second thing you have to learn is how to put up a simple one page website. Don’t panic! It’s easy. Once I got over being intimidated by the thought I just got into it and banged one out. The first website I made was pretty bad. The second a little better. Now I have done 40 or 50 and my sites work just fine. I keep them simple.
Using a webpage editor isn’t much more difficult than a word processor is to learn. You’ll see how it’s sort of the same thing. Just do it! You’ll be proud of yourself.
The third thing you need to have is a domain name and hosting. That’s simple too! Your domain name is your website internet address (URL) and your hosting company is the outfit that puts your files on their servers that are hooked up to the net.
Fourth, the autoresponder. Sounds odd but isn’t. All marketers use them and it seems that most use an outfit called Aweber. This ingenious software allows you to stay in communication with your website visitors by email and increases the odds of you making a sale by quite a bit! It’s a known statistic that the average sale is made on the 7th or 8th contact.
So, if you want to be way below average in sales just DON”T use an autoresponder! Without an autoresponder you’ll only make one contact and you won’t have their name! Automatic followup. Very effective and easy too…once you have worked through it.
The fifth item necessary for success in IM is a keyword tool. Use Googles keyword tool. It’s FREE, it’s easy to use and it has excellent tutorials. Google is a huge company on the net and they have many things for you, most of which are FREE! Try to beat that. Get familiar with Google. You’ll be glad you did. Another thing I recommend is Google Analytics, also free. But that would make eleven and this is the “ten” list.
Sixth skill to acquire – Traffic Generation. It’s absolutely critical. The most professional salespage will not produce if no one sees it. But not just anybody. You want “targeted traffic.”
Here’s the example I like. If you are selling a dog training program you’d want people with dog problems to see your offer!
The internet allows us to drive the correct traffic to our websites. That would be people who want to buy what you have to sell. There are dozens of ways to drive targeted traffic to the right offers…you just have to study traffic generation for a while. Then, pick a method to concentrate on. Stick with it until it works. They all work, you just have to get it right.
The seventh thing you’ll want is a way for people to buy something from you. I mean pay for it. Give you money! There are many ways. A simple way is Paypal. It’s what I use. Just open an account. It’s FREE! They charge you a little transaction fee per sale. They handle it all.
I think for number eight we should start a blog. You can use Blogger or WordPress.org, since they are free, but I recommend against it. If you don’t have your blog hosted on your own account then you don’t have full control. Get this… WordPress.org doesn’t allow affiliate links or selling! And we are Marketers! So, remember, wordpress.com hosted on your own hosting company is the way you want to go.
Blogs can be low maintenance traffic generators! When you write about your topic you will include certain keywords that will cause your article to come up for someone searching on that keyword or phrase.”
Google spiders like blogs. I do too! So my setup is that my main site is a wordpress blog hosted by a company I chose. My blog is surrounded by salespage websites with links to the posts. An elegant solution. Try it!
It looks a little like a solar system. The Blog is in the middle and the salespages are the satellites.
The ninth skill you’ll need is FTP. File Transfer Protocol. Don’t panic. It’s easy. At first I uploaded files to my site by hand, one at a time, the hard way because I knew how to do that. Don’t even bother learning the hard way. Use FTP. By the way, the one file at a time by hand method is very cool when you want to make a small change on one page. I can correct a typo in 2 minutes. I just go right in there and correct it.
There are two very good FTP programs that are FREE! You cannot beat that price. Cyberduck or Filezilla. My guess is that when they are free you can call them anything you want!
The tenth thing I think you need for a simple start to this business is a course of easy lessons that are designed to bring you from totally new to making money. I know…lots of people say they can give you this. I have only found two and I looked long and hard.
These are the ten things I did. These skills made it possible for me to set up money making info-websites and a blog. I could have done better, though. I spent too much time studying and not enough time settling down and sticking with one thing.
That’s what I’m doing now. I’m sticking with it. I’m moving it forward every day. My goal is to have my little operation making enough money on a regular basis that I can hire an assistant. There’s my goal. What’s yours?
Thank you…I’ll see you at my blog.
Riley West – An Oregon pioneer making his way in the trade.

There are a lot of folks out there that will tell you how to make money on the internet. My advice? Don’t listen to them. Especially not ALL of them!
A little background. In 2006 I knew nothing about sales by means of the internet. I tried to get right into it but my inability to know what to do or not to do invariably stopped me cold…after losing some money.
I sort of knew what I wanted to do even though I had never done it. I wanted to sell downloadable information ebooks. I had already bought some and saw how that went and I just liked the sales process…and I still do.

By the way, you haven’t been told this before. These ten “things” are not skills that you have to be an expert in. You just need to know your way around in it. That’s one of the keys to getting rid of that whole overwhelmed feeling that nails us all at times. Good enough is good enough and perfect is impossible. Just do it!
The first thing you have to become at ease with is the terminology of the business. I found a good online internet marketing school and put myself in there!

Here’s the example I like. If you are selling tires you want people with bald tires to see your offer!
The internet allows us to drive the correct traffic to our websites. That would be people who want to buy what you have to sell. You can do it! – Here’s to your success.
Riley West – An Internet Marketer In The Making.

The truth is most bloggers simply make a post and expect income. WRONG! This is not how it works! You can write all the promotional articles you want, but if you’re not talking about what people care about, if you’re not hitting on the key frustrastions, desires, wants, and loves of your community, no one will read, no one will be interested, and no one will listen when you promote a product! So the first step to “starting a blog” is to do your research. Spend some unscripted time in the popular forums and social networks of your niche, and write down a list of these common issues. Make posts to ask questions about specific products, find out what people love and hate, and what they WOULD want in a product. You will often find, many products are simply lacking in a couple ways. This is your in. You can then create short videos or articles solving these problems, and even package your articles/videos together and use it as a BONUS if someone buys from your affiliate link.

Here’s another thing unsuccessful bloggers do: they are not honest. Look, the Internet is old enough for almost everyone to know that people promoting products on blogs make affiliate commissions. This is not a bad thing, but if you’re not upfront and honest about it, you’ll be seen as dodgy and get less sales/conversions. It is important that you do not simply promote anyting, just for the commission. Promote a product because you’ve tested it and truly believe in it. Know what you’re talking about before you post. It’s incedibly important to actually do research as a blogger. In fact, writing is not the majority of your work. It’s all about connecting people with problems to the right solutions.

After you’ve done your research, get your hosting and domain by going to Host Gator and typing in the code “1cent” when you get the option. The first month will cost one cent. Then go to wordpress and find a good theme for your blog. You can type in “premium wordpress blog” to get some good themes, or choose a free one that looks nice. Make sure you pick a theme with advertising space and a prominent “Subcribe to My RSS Feed” button at the top. Now it’s time to get some plug-ins. Basically plug-ins are little additions to your blog which increase functionality, use, and value. They are important. Do not skip this step.

Here’s a list of plug-ins I use in my own blogs, but instead of explaining what they do, I’m going to save you time and just list them. You can read their descriptions by searching for them at wordpress. Here’s the list: All in One SEO, Google XML Sitemaps, Askimet, PHP-Exec, MaxBlogPress Favicon, WP-Cache, Auto Hyperlink URLS, Sociable, TweetMyBlog, Statpress SEOlution, GoCodes, What Would Seth Godin Do, and Popularity Contest. By the way, all these plug-ins are completely free. You can have a lot of fun finding great plug-ins for your blog.

The next step will be writing your content. How often should you promote products? Certainly not every post. I’ve found that about one post out of every 3 to 5 posts can promote a product, and people tend to respect that. It takes a lot of time to write articles, do research, and be a good resource, and your subscribers will happily listen when you promote products that they know will actually help them out. The process to sales is know, like, trust, buy, so remember to provide real content and value, and only promote good products. Contact the product owner and see if you can get a special leaked report or chapter of their ebook for instance. These little bonuses build your credibility and your readers will love you for it!

First off I want to say that I am fairly new to internet marketing but have been making a full time living online and see a promising future as I work towards my goals. I am totally committed to succeed at this and will not give up on my dream.

I have tried internet marketing several times in the past, and spent a decent amount of money while trying to make it work, just to fail miserably every time. I knew there was a way but I just did know it. I did not know how because I did not have the proper education and training.

There are just so many programs you can buy that claim they can make you rick quick through online sales & through internet marketing. I am sure you have seen them on TV, in your email box and every where else you look.

Most universities and colleges don’t teach in detail about how to make money online through internet marketing. You can go to school for years and not learn what you need to know to succeed in the REAL online marketing world.

The internet changes constantly and what worked today might not work tomorrow. That is why you should not spend hard cash learning in this in a traditional college. By the time you graduate 3/4 of what you learned would be obsolete. That is how fast the internet changes!

I have spent the last 3 months learning about internet marketing and I must tell you that I am finally making huge progress and just opened more 5 online affiliate search & compare stores last week. One store is a lighting and lamp store that has over 8900 products for sale, the next 2 are induction cooking comparison websites and the third is a food website with over 14,000 items in the product catalog including fine wines.

Online sales is a worldwide business. I have some of my Google ads showing in places like South Africa and Australia and these people buy my products.

The websites cost me absolutely nothing except for the $7.50 fee for registering the domain and a small $7 a month hosting fee. The website itself is free because I used free easy to use WordPress for my websites. I just found out about WordPress last month and now i am hooked because it’s free and so simple to use that even a beginner can use it. I also help people for free if they need help installing it.

Yes, I must say that WAU taught me just about everything i know about internet marketing I use all the research tools they offer for free to members on a daily basis, these research tools save me hours everyday in my marketing research.

They gave me all the knowledge and tools i need to succeed and now the rest is up to me to put them to work.

If you are thinking about getting an education in online marketing or want to further your knowledge of internet marketing to compliment your current career then there is no need to go back to college. The internet is constantly changing. Google is for ever changing their algorithm and that is something no traditional College or University could never keep up with.

When Google changes its algorithm you can go from having top search results on the first search results page and overnight end up on the 39th page of the search results. How do you get your site back on page one again you might ask? I know the answer to this question because I learned how to deal with it and get back on track, but that’s another article altogether.

Like anything, you get out of it what you put into it.

You also have to be a fighter and not give up easily because you will never know what you would have missed out on if you give up.

YOU WILL NOT GET RICH QUICK, however If you can do for a year what others won’t, then you can do for a lifetime what others can’t!

I live by this saying and it has inspired me to push harder every day towards my goal.

It’s been said that affiliate marketing is, without a doubt, one the quickest and most efficient ways of making money online. There are several reasons for this. A big attraction is that most affiliate programs don’t require any enrollment fees. There’s no financial investment on the part of the affiliate. Plus, it’s an excellent way to earn money online without having your own products to sell. You can simply choose a product you are interested in, and set up a web site to promote it.
An affiliate’s only job is to generate traffic to their unique affiliate link by pre-selling the merchant’s products. The sales page, the payment processing, the digital delivery, and the post sales services is all handled by the affiliate merchant.
An affiliate tracking link will track how many sales you make from your website, and you’ll be rewarded with the commission earnings.
What You Need To Be A Successful Affiliate Marketer
An affiliate network to manage your sales. This is not mandatory, but is preferred for beginners as you are able to manage your sales and statistics from one central interface. Also, many networks contain several affiliate products, so you can group similarly themed products to sell.
Two of the major affiliate networks are Commission Junction and Clickbank. Amazon and Ebay also have their own affiliate programs which can be quite lucrative. There are hundreds of other affiliate providers and you can use your favorite search engine to find them. Just enter the terms ‘affiliate networks’ and hit search.
Sometimes, to achieve better results require some expense. Getting a web host, for example, as well as a domain name, would require you to spend money. Getting professionally made graphics to make your website attractive can also cost dig into your pocket. Pay Per Click advertising, commonly referred to as PPC advertising can be costly if not done properly. These are just a few things to keep in mind.
A Website
You will require a web site or at least one page on an existing web site you might own. It’s not always necessary to set up a whole website to promote one affiliate product. You might choose to dedicate just one single page to this product, and this is fine. This method can actually be very successful. If you don’t know HTML, the language required to build a website, you can consider using a blog.
WordPress Blog Platform
WordPress is a movable-type blog. It’s a software program you download and use to create your own blogs which you could upload in your own server. You won’t have to settle for the words ‘blogspot’ or ‘livejournal’ or ‘xanga’ to be attached to your URL. You could host your blog under its own domain name, or as another page in your main website.
Blogs are great marketing tools. They get indexed quite quickly by the search engines, and often, the figure prominently well in the search engine results pages (SERPs). They could also give your main website the backlinks it needs to boost its own page rank. Additionally, a blog can be customized to become your main website.
The primary advantage of this approach is the convenience you’ll receive when it comes to publishing content. Download the WordPress client for free from www.wordpress.com .
A Product To Promote
Preferably this will be a product you have purchased yourself, as you will want to be fully aware of all aspects of the product so you can produce truthful reviews and promotions for it.
It’s best if you can choose a product that you truly like, as people will prefer your honest opinion on it and can generally tell if you are only promoting it “for the money” rather than from your own experience.
Clickbank.com and Commission Junction for example, have thousands of products that you can choose from in a wide variety of niches. These are good places to begin to find a product to promote as an affiliate.
Text That Sells The Product (Copywriting)
This is where you make your sales. You need to tell people why they should buy this product, what is in it for them?
Often this can take the form of a product review. You might casually review the product you are promoting, and subtly add an affiliate link during and after the article. This method works well as it doesn’t directly look like you are selling anything.
Those are the basics of starting your affiliate internet marketing business.

Here is the absolute simplest way to get your own website going and start making money. Get a blog and start bringing your share of massive online marketing money to you. If you envision a life of doing your hearts desire, whenever you please, and always wanted to get paid to write, then get your blog started. Blogs are flexible online marketing tools for any niche and are a great way to relax because you are writing about something you love.
Here I am dealing only with the potential high pay off of a blog and setting up you personal blog at absolutely free! Sound good? Let’s keep rolling!
First, you need to know how to get a blog completely free. You have a couple of ways to start:
1. Use your Own domain to host a niche market blog or …
2. Choose a free hosted blog. Many newbies don’t have a domain, or website, so first consider the blogs that are hosted for free. The two best places for a free blog someone hosts for you are: at www.blogger.com or the newer (and better!) www.wordpress.com. Almost anyone who has been marketing online for even a short time has heard of WordPress, a free blog engine incredibly expandable, and highly robust.
Google created Blogger.com, so of course this means it will be indexed faster and show up in Google more readily. WordPress.com, is the newer option and I am no expert in testing the speed of getting indexed by search engines. I believe WordPress is a better choice because it has many more advanced features including trackbacks and categories along with incrdible plugins avaialble free. You can also manage your sidebar links more efficiently (more about this later). With the automatic pinging and many WordPress plug-ins, I am convinced their is no real difference you need to be concerned about. Pick the one you want. I use WordPress.
How do you do it? Go to either Blogger.com (https://www.blogger.com/start) or WordPress (http://wordpress.com/signup/) and sign up. What could be easier? Once you choose, spend a little time learning about the site by posting your first blog post about alomst anything you want (it really doesn’t matter what). Maybe start with something about you and why you have this blog. Posting your first blog post will help you get accustom to the site, its templates and other features. Just do it, you can’t hurt anything.
Like everything, blogging has its own unique language, so here are a few simple terms you’ll want to be familiar with:
1) Pinging – On the web there are aggregators or collectors of info about blogs being updated. Pinging is the action you or your blog takes to notify the aggregators you just completed an update. This is the single feature that makes possible the creation of targeted traffic almost immediately to your blog.
2) Trackback – This is link that is used you post in your blog something about someone else’s blog post of a related item. It will cause your blog post to appear in their “trackback” section. It is unique to WordPress blogs.
3) Permalink – Permalink means permanent link, and is the URL (uniform resource locator) that can be used to send people directly to the post in your blog.
So, if you don’t have a blog, just go to one of the sites above and get started. Play with the features included and get the feel of blogging. In the future, I will share with you some of the many ways to generate profit simply by consistently adding to your blog. Keep your visitors glued, and the keep coming back for more.
