You’re probably thing about how blonde this question is.
I’m trying to install phpfan on my server/mySQL database so when I go to configure one of the files it asks for my local host. At first I’m thinking of my comp’s IP address then the number address to my server.
< ?php
if(strcmp(basename($_SERVER['PHP_SELF']),basename(__FILE__)) === 0)
{
exit('Forbidden!');
}
$host = 'localhost'; // Most likely is localhost
$dbname = ''; // (blank)
$user = ''; // (blank)
$dbpassword = ''; // (blank)
// Database tables.
$prefix = 'phpfantest';
// WordPress integration.
//require_once('/path/to/your/wp-config.php');
// DO NOT EDIT ANYTHING BELOW THIS LINE!
$includepath = dirname(__FILE__);
?>
I really have no idea what I change on this script :/ I don’t know too much about this PHP stuff.. please help!
Thanks!
YOU’RE PROBABLY THINKING! XDDD Sorry bout the typo.
Hi,
Alright I have my site up and running and everything is working just fine. All of my files are backed up locally and I only sync files back and forth that have been changed.
My question is I’m also using WordPress on my site for blogging purposes. Everything that’s on my site is backed up EXCEPT WordPress. Now I’m still kind of new to databases and everything, but can I safely sync my WordPress directory with my other local site files? I want to do this for ease of changing themes, or restoring them should something happen to the remote files
Now if I were to create a new blog entry or page using WordPress are those files saved in my WordPress directory or are they in some sort of SQL database? If they are in a separate database outside of my WordPress directory, what is the best way to back this up regularly to my local computer?
Basically I just want to be safe in case something happened to where I ever had to either restore all of my files to the website or even transfer my files to a different web host. Would all of the user accounts and blog posts still be intact? Heck sometimes even just upgrading WordPress software can mess things up.
I know I’m a bit paranoid but I’d rather play it safe.
Thanks,
Adam Lawton
P.S. in response to any answers, would your methods also work on forum applications such as bbpress or phpbb?
I installed wordpress in my computer A with xampp as a test server. My other computer “B” is connected to this using local area network and tries to access wordpress from computer A which acts as a server but it won’t show the pages. Why?
From computer B, i use my browser and type the address. i placed the wordpress folder in my htdocs folder within the xampp directory.
for ex:

Hi,
I recently installed wordpress on my home computer and would like to transfer it to a live site (as I now have a host site running).
I found some instructions here:
http://www.jestro.com/web-design/convert-local-wordpress-xampp-installation-into-live-site/
but I find these hard to follow.
Can anyone help? I’m a beginner at this.
