Have you ever lost hosting or simply wanted to change your WP content rapidly, instead of having to go copy and paste everything you ever wrote all over again into a new WP blog? This video is all about transferring information from one WP blog to another WP blog.
I’m installing the Thesis theme for wordpress on my new blog and want to put a border around my content.
Reputed bloggers Matt Cutts (www.mattcutts.com) and Michael Gray (www.wolf-howl.com) both use the effect I’m interested in on their sites. It’s the black box border around the page and the padding away from the top and bottom that I’m after – exactly like they’ve done it.
Do I need to manually edit my custom css file or can I get this effect in the Thesis options somehow? Or even with openhooks perhaps? Bit of a newbie question but my tragically non-existent familiarity with Thesis means I can’t copy the effect without some detailed instructions from a smarter person please!
There’s a fair bit involved in fully backing up your WordPress blog, but there’s a quick simple way to at least save your posts, pages, comments, and categories in a format you can use to easilly import into another WordPress installation.

I’ve tried everything I can find. The only thing I can think of is that I have two images that are floated into position using inline css.
I have tried:
floating the sidebar to the right.
adding “display: inline;” to the floated images
triple checked that all opened div tags are closed
it passes w3c validation http://validator.w3.org/

I know this is a complex topic but if you could point me to some guides that would be great. I’m experienced at HTML and CSS hard coding but not so much when it comes to XML, RSS and PHP etc.
Thanks!

You can configure your home page to show the full content of each post or an excerpt. You can also configure your archive.php or your category.php file to display the content or an excerpt. The excerpt strips all HTML formatting. The content doesn’t strip any formatting and will display all content up until your Read More tag. For more WordPress tips, see my site, idratherbewriting.com

I’ve created a new website. It’s about something some friends and I are developing. I want to constantly be adding news of how we are progressing. Having to keep changing the website completely everytime I have more news is too much work.
What is a good program to use that will allow me to do this with content? I have my site hosted on godaddy and just installed WordPress, but I don’t know if it allows me to put info I put in the database straight to my site, or if I have to use the wordpress as my whole website. If word press isn’t the right way to integrate feeds into my current site, what is?
I use dreamweaver CS3 for my webpages and I would also like it if people can get an RSS to my news.
Thank You :D
Yes but how do I use wordpress to add the content onto my html site? Thank you :]
Hi… I’m new to wordpress and I would like to know how to extract a post content then putting it on my web site…
I’ve used WordPress but I know there’s LOTS of others like Joomla.. I want a CMS that is professional looking and can integrate security, forums, blog style in some manner, maybe some flash animations?
That it looks good and awesome :)
Hi im in the process of finishing up my website and almost ready to publish it but im kinda stuck on something.
I currently have CuteNews v1.4.6 (http://cutephp.com/) as my content management system because I would like to blog on my site & I was thinking about buying the license because I want the site to be professional and don’t want the credits listed at the bottom BUT im not for sure if CuteNews is secure enough. Im scared that someone maybe able to hack my website.
Does anyone know if CuteNews is secure enough for my site? I want to make sure that buying the license will be worth it. If its not then I will try to switch over to WordPress. I originally wanted to use WordPress but it was too confusing but If Cutenews isn’t good enough then I will find a way.
Thanks ahead of time!
