I am wanting to start to build some websites for personal use and maybe put some ads on them for some money. I’ve been exploring the many web hosters and have quickly become overwhelmed at the whole thing. I am new to web hosting and even designing websites altogether. Here are a few of the things that are a must:
1.Unlimited Domains that you can host on one account.
2. It should be pretty cheap. No more than $10 MAX.
3. Good uptime like 99%.
4. It should be compatible with most programs like php and wordpress and other important ones like that.
5. I am planning on shared hosting as I dont think my site will get more than a few hundred hits a day MAX. So something along those lines.
Also, anything else to look for?
Try to use your own personal experience but just also what youve heard.
After obtaining a shared hosting site, What programs would you suggest a individual use that hasn’t built a website in 5 years when i built one at a university using HTML code. And I want 3 websites One is a hobby type that has alot of pdf’s and photos and some possible video(that i may want to customize more than some programs will allow, colors ,fonts and general placement of information on my page) , another may be just a blog of my own and another will be a business site for some friends of mine that have a business that want a website.
So, I’m hosting a blog on WordPress (a free blog, not a self hosted one) and I recently added an RSS widget through feedburner. Everything is working fine, except I want to know what exactly I need to do to get my audio up.
I recently found an eHow article on how to add mp3 audio to your blog, and using the code will be no problem, but will doing it that way allow RSS Subscribers to listen to or find the audio on iTunes and whatnot as well? Or do I need to do something else?
Also, here is the eHow article which I’m referring to:

Thanks so much in advance, I appreciate it a lot.
I’m considering starting a new blog for the sole purpose of making money. I already have a personal blog through WordPress, but WordPress won’t allow blogsto use adsense or other ad services, which would completely defeat the purpose for me.
What other sites can I use to create a new blog for this purpose? I need something user-friendly (I am NO HTML or CSS expert) that can grow with me.

Ok, so I’m a web designer and I really want to be able to code some back-end stuff. I have played around with wordpress and I like it but I’d really like to do some stuff that doesn’t need an entire blog management tool. Is there any software or tools that allows a non-experience programmer to build back end functions with relative ease? Like user authentification, user management, creating a very simple news/blog system, ability to upload content etc?
If not, please recommend the place to start learning PHP. Thanks!
I am looking for an HTML form builder that will email the submissions to me (I am using wordpress.com)
I am looking to put this up as a volunteer signup on a political website
Hi all,
I’m thinking of trying my hand at web design as I’m ok with html/css etc but I was wondering how web designers get their clients to edit their own pages. I tried installing WordPress (so they can use the UI there) on a local server (Xampp) but I find the service a little too blog-orientated. Anyone know of simple/free visual HTML Editors/FTP which aren’t too daunting for the non-technical minded.
Thanks.
Hi everyone, I’m just wondering what your opinion is for a good PHP script to be used as a catalogue/business website.
It’s basically to list what my friend has in stock at his computer shop.
I’m quite good with Joomla! and WordPress, but I’m just wondering if there are any other open source scripts I could use.
One of the main down sides of this project I’m working on is it’s not going to be an online store, so OsCommerce is sort of out the question.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
It’ll be mainly a fashion, tips and DIY blog, with tutorials on how to make and create your own clothing and accessories. It’ll also have personal posts and photographs. I already have a Tumblr, but I’m not sure about it. For example, I might create a post that I do not want others to reblog.
Other websites that I’ve heard of include:
Blogger (is this good?)
WordPress
Weebly
Eventually, if my website becomes popular enough, I want to add Google Ads to it. I would really like a website that lets me create my own pages; that is, I can have a page completely dedicated to “Outfits”, “Me”, “DIY”, etc. Should I just keep the Tumblr and work on it?
Which websites would you recommend?
Hi.
I have developed an application with Google Maps API (not currently live so I can’t link to it). The application was developed in JavaScript and PHP and has the function for users to login and store information on a MySQL database (all made using Dreamweaver).
At the moment is fully functional but it is not presentable. I could design a site and make everything look nice using CSS and publish this to the internet – all using Dreamweaver….but this application will only form one section of the website. I would like to have other pages on the site that my colleagues can edit with ease (they do not have access to Dreamweaver, nor are they technically minded).
Am I right in saying that an opensource CMS like WordPress does not have the flexibility to support my application? Would I need to use some sort of online website builder with the functionality to display my app in an iframe?
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks
I have rather large.. assets, and can’t find a bra that holds them correctly. I want perky cleavage, like most ladies. Now, I know that New York has a boob job. (At least, that’s what I assume.) But are there any kinds of bras that can have this kind of affect? Are there any tricks to getting this?

Also, I’m a bit chubby. If I exercise, and loose a bit of weight, will it significantly reduce my bust? I’d like to slim up a bit, and still keep my breasts. Exercise tips and things would be helpful too. I’m hoping to shape up, but not get too thin.
This is me, by the way:

Thanks everyone.
(:
(Sorry if this is in the wrong category?)
I am an expert in HTML and CSS, and am currently studying MYSQL and PHP in college. I want to add a blog to my website, but I’m not sure what the best method is for doing that. If it’s possible to program a blog with PHP, I haven’t gotten that far yet. I’ve heard a lot about WordPress and Blogger, but I want to integrate the blog with my site to facilitate SEO. I don’t want to go through the process of trying to learn one method if it sucks compared to another. Thank you.
I’ll be paying for domain space at a blog site, like Typepad or WordPress, etc. I don’t want to use any of their templates, but my own custom HTML and CSS. Obviously I want to get the best value for my money. What’s the best site?
I do not have enough knowledge to create a reasonably functioning blog with comments and all that, so I can’t make it entirely on my own.

I need a blogging site that allows you to change the layout, or pick from different ones, change the font, without having to use CSS, HTML or otherwise modify the script, use multiple tabs or pages on the same blog, something like what wordpress offers (but I can’t stand wordpress…), and just overall ease of use.
I currently have a blog on blogger.com and I like it, but I wish you could add another tab/page, not in the side column of the blog. If it makes a difference, I’m blogging on news, current events, personal opinions.
Any advice would be great, and I will pick a best answer, depending on who suggests the BEST site for what I described.
FREE blogging sites please… It isn’t important enough to me to pay for anything.
My father is…old…and he runs a successful small (very small) business. His site is currently some shabby looking site made by a “template creator” since I didn’t have time back then to work on his site.
I have my own site which I’ve coded entirely with HTML and CSS, as I prefer learning the code to make different things happen. I wish I had more time to learn other languages and get my web design skills where they ought to be. I’m very very good at HTML and pretty good now with CSS but I’m not much of a visual designer; I prefer the challenge of taking someone’s design and making it real (whether I can or not).
In any case, my father wants to be able to update/change/design his site without me, and I’m not sure exactly how to make a setup like that. I hear of CMS things like Joomla, Drupal, and WordPress but I’ve tried figuring out Joomla on a whim and I always got stuck before I see the bigger picture of how to do things.
His site only really needs a good visual design and some pages for text/pictures/a RARE audio or video posting. There’s always a POSSIBILITY of using ecommerce, but I dont think he’s looking towards such a big change in business style. His sales are mostly done through referrals and with larger corporations/schools, so he doesn’t normally sell to individuals. Anything he does/would sell he uses eBay just to get rid of some old stuff.
