I am wanting to start to build some websites for personal use and maybe put some ads on them for some money. I’ve been exploring the many web hosters and have quickly become overwhelmed at the whole thing. I am new to web hosting and even designing websites altogether. Here are a few of the things that are a must:
1.Unlimited Domains that you can host on one account.
2. It should be pretty cheap. No more than $10 MAX.
3. Good uptime like 99%.
4. It should be compatible with most programs like php and wordpress and other important ones like that.
5. I am planning on shared hosting as I dont think my site will get more than a few hundred hits a day MAX. So something along those lines.
Also, anything else to look for?
Try to use your own personal experience but just also what youve heard.
This is my first “professional” website I am building for someone else. She is part of a home owners association and they want a basic website with links (nothing too fancy). However, if they do expand in the future, they want to be able to do it without a webmaster (me). This is my plan as well because I don’t have time to manually edit their html every time they come up with new materials.
What is the best way to set up this website? I do know my HTML/CSS/Javascript and basic PHP/MySQL. Should I do a blog type setup where i program the website PHP in WordPress/Joomla/Droopal? I do not actually know any PHP coding so i would have to learn it by Christmas break which is when i will make the site. But how should I go about making the site? It won’t be on the scale of Amazon or facebook where intense server side coding is necessary to organize large amounts of info to display. just need a method so they can edit their own content without me intervening.

For example, I would like to do a search on websites that have
a) “marketing” listed in the URL
b)”online business” within the text
c) And exclude the following words”.org,.edu,.gov ,blog, php, script, wordpress”
BUT, when I try to use the string:
allinurl: marketing allintext: “online business” -site:.org,.edu,.gov -blog, -php, -script, -wordpress
The results come up with no such listings. I know that there are websites which fit this criteria. What is the proper way to format the search so that I may isolate the above criteria?
Thank you for the suggestion. When I use only allinurl: then the filter requires that both phrases need to be within the URL. I need the first to be in the url and second in the text.
I did not mean to screw up the code in the footer of my wp page, I was looking to ad a privacy statement and terms and conditions, i always copy the code first and this time I didn’t so stupid, the page used to read this in the footer…

I’m making a website kind of like FML. I already have the domain name and hosting. I need to create a 301 “wildcard” redirect – I think I can add it to my htaccess file. Here is what I need to do :
