I’m on 1&1.com, and I’ve just bought a domain. I’m trying to create a blog, so I’m trying to implement WordPress into my site. According to the tutorial I’m reading, I’m supposed to-
“Click on the icon on the ‘Administration’ tab marked “MySQL Administration, then click on the button labeled ‘New Database’.”
However, under the Administration tab there is no icon that says “MySQL Administration” and I don’t know where to find it. Does anybody know where I can find it?
I have the beginner’s package if that helps any. Sorry if this doesn’t make a lot of sense, I’m terrible with computers, so if you could explain the answer it relatively simple English I would appreciate it a lot. Thank you! :)

Most websites nowadays use database driven, dynamic pages. That is, a site like http://example.com would contain a page for displaying articles showarticle.php then to determine which article to pull out of the database, one would use query strings (http://example.com/showarticle.php?artcileid=523). I recently read about clean urls and how you can convert the previous URL to http://example.com/articles/523.html for example. If you notice here, we didn’t lose the article id (523) it’s still in the URL, it’s just the place that changed. M question now is: a lot of websites use this technique, but i can’t find any unique id in the title, for example a site like http://goodsite.com/articles/how-to-be-an-effective-leader/ i don’t see any reference to the page id here, and i don’t think that they use the page title to be the primary key, as this would be against optimization rules. I learned that this technique is used by WordPress. Do you have any idea how do they establish this?

Okay, I have just moved my blog from wordpress’s domain to a new and free domain& hosting service of my own. xxx.co.cc
But after the moved, i found the blog loading very slow, sometimes database are down, and sometimes the server is overloaded so i need to wait a few seconds to reload it.
Is there a user-friendly ways or plugins for wordpress that I can use to make my site load faster and no more down times?
Please help, because my blog is loading very slow.

Thanks, for the WP-Cache links, but i tried follow the manual installation instructions, but i whenever i go to settings>wp-cache, then it gives some error about duplicating the files and put in wp-content, but i already did that, and follow what it says in the instructions, but it still doesnt work, probably my WP version is new for that plugin,
Any other solution for WP 2.6.3 which speeds up the site??
i love them both and i think they are very exotic looking. What do you think?

I want to make a stupid contact form, thought that using wordpress for that would be great, because I might want to use some other wordpress addons as well. My stupid host gave me the wrong log in names and messed everything up. I finally found the MySQL/MyPHP log in site, but I can’t make a new database there. So I thought I had to install phpMyAdmin (it’s what they advised). After 8 hours of horror, I finally was able to log in, but now it says I have no rights to create a new database or user.
I think that the best thing to do now is to remove everything again. I really don’t know what to do any more, I’m getting desperate, and really really cranky. How do I remove the worthless stuff my provider gave me and install phpMyAdmin properly?
Hey guys, can you help me out with a CMS installation? It’s called SiteCake (http://sitecake.com/) and it’s supposed to be really simple, like drag and drop simple. What I do is I upload and unzip it to my root folder in my server, I then proceed to create a Mysql database… But what do I do next? I’ve successfully installed wordpress and joomlas but with this I can’t find anything anywhere… help me out!
I have an anime site (Bleachcoda.com) that runs off of WordPress 2.7.1. I have a lot of good anime on there. I have a lot of new material on there that people should be interested in. I have backed my sql database up two ways. I have saved the whole database and I have saved a backup of the wp_posts, wp_terms, wp_term_relationships and wp_term_taxonomy in one seperate zipped sql. I also have backed up the wordpress theme im using and plugins through cpanel’s file manager. Should I just delete everything and start over?
Yes. I also backed up my uploads. I have manga on there as well. I want to be able to get the viewers I used to get. Many months ago I had about 13,000 views a month and in the last few months I’ve had 6,400 and now I have barely any views at all. Today I had 161 views. I tag all my posts, categorize all the anime in the correct categories, i add appropriate titles… I’m not sure I know what I am doing wrong or if I am even doing anything wrong at all. I want to be able to have the views that I used to have.

Okay when I go to this site this wordpress error page pops up and says this:
“Error establishing a database connection
This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.”
So, what exactly does that mean and what can I do to solve this error? Any help on this would be most appreciated. Thanks!!! ^-^
